Growth Mindset: Comparison

Comparisons. Built Using Cheezburger

For this week, I decided to create a meme about comparisons. People often fall victim to comparing themselves to the person next to them. whether they are in class, in a store, etc. It is time to focus on oneself more often and stop wishing to have / to be like the one next to you. the Bible condemns coveting and we should use our abilities, minds and willpower to be our best.

  1. Hi Vera! I really like the meme you create there and I find myself smiling looking at it (because I do like Batman a lot and his sassiness in that meme is totally awesome). I agree with you that people often compare themselves to someone when they are feeling down or feeling they are failing something. I sometimes feel like that as well, but at the end of the day, I try to not do so because hey, everyone is different! Just gotta believe in yourself!

  2. This is such a funny but relatable meme. Sometimes I wish Batman could come slap me straight when I find myself comparing my life to others. Like you said the Bible condemns coveting and I strive to follow this commandment. This meme serves as a nice reminder that our own abilities are more important that what we can’t have or do and that’s what we need to focus on.

  3. Hi Vera, I agree with your meme very much. I'm guilty of comparing myself to others all the time and even though I know that I shouldn't, I still do. But it all is stemmed from an individual's desire to be liked and since we are social creatures, it's a hard habit to break once it gets going. I noticed that comparing yourself to others makes you act differently or be someone who you really don't want to be. All it does is bring me down, but I am definitely working on doing my own thing.
